‘R’ Kameo and Leanne from WORST to FIRST!
Aug 2nd, 2009 | By Kameo | Category: GeneralLeanne won her very first ever red ribbon and Grandview Horse Trials this Saturday…. She has worked very hard and it paid off with a huge win. Not only did she win her division she did it by 5 points! At first glance, and yet to be confirmed when the scores are posted online, it also looks like she had the winning score of the entire entry division 86 horses at all levels, junior, senior, regular, and open!
We have to thank Kameo for doing her job but it took concentration and good riding to finish the day on their dressage score. Ann Morgan our coach made a special trip up to the Horse Trials to walk Leanne through her paces and Lisa, our groom, was also a big help on the in between periods as we waited for the next phase and then the 2 hour wait for the scores to be posted.
It has been a summer of ups and downs as Kameo won her first two shows and then was eliminated, first by the show committee error and then by the dreaded fence 8 that somehow disappeared when Leanne was on course.
So today proved that they are a team that can win. The next challenge is the Championships where Leanne will have two horses to compete. She has qualified her own horse, Serenity as well as Kameo! Two very different horses to compete at two different levels on the same two days…
Here is a photo of a very happy pair at the end of the day…. Kameo is actually questionning the presentation of a plate with no carrots! But don’t worry she had lots of carrots and a lovely special supper when she got home.
For photos of the cross country you can check them out on Andrew Bailini’s website. Leanne was #50 in Entry Junior division B. She was the 8th horse to go in her division. She is wearing a pink shirt with a blue saddle pad with pink strips. www.photosbybailini.com
